Publix Introduces Primula Green Flowering Teas

Publix Super Markets Inc. launched all natural Primula Green Flowering Teas and Primula glass teaware to meet its consumer’s increasing demand for brewing high-quality teas at home. All Publix supermarkets, including 11 stores in the Gainesville market, are rolling out Primula tea products.

Primula Green Flowering Teas are high-end green teas blended with fresh jasmine and hand sewn with real flowers.

The flowering teas are first placed into a pot of hot water, and as the green tea brews, the tea opens up and blooms into a bouquet of flowers.

The tea industry is growing nationally. Sales of tea were $6.85 billion in 2007 and are estimated to reach $10 billion by 2010.

The vast increase in demand is due to the well-known health benefits of green tea. Drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful in lowering cholesterol, killing cancer cells without harming healthy tissue and inhibiting abnormal formation of blood clots, which is the leading cause of heart attacks and strokes.

Green tea can also help dieters as researchers recently found that people who were given green tea extract burned more calories than those given caffeine alone.

In the past, Publix sold few green tea products, but Publix has recently increased its product selection due to popular demand.

The space in the store dedicated to tea products has grown dramatically over the past three years, and tea sales have gone up. All the vendors are now getting into the green tea market. The Coca-Cola Co. and PepsiCo Inc. are coming out with bottled green tea beverages.

Primula Green Flowering Teas are a unique product with a different concept, and it will be popular with Publix customers. People are looking for natural, healthy alternatives in the beverage category.

Eastern civilizations have been consuming high-quality teas for a long time. The U.S. was a tea-drinking nation prior to the Boston Tea Party, and thereafter we drank mainly coffee from our own plantations.

The American consumer will enjoy being introduced to new, fabulous-tasting teas with unique brewing methods.

As an alternative hot beverage, people are forgoing their coffee for tea. Teas are known to have less acidity than coffee and offer a wide range of caffeine levels. This pleases people who cannot tolerate high levels of caffeine.

It's hard to make coffee for a group, and it is trendy to serve tea at parties. Primula Green Flowering Teas were featured on “Gossip Girl,” the CW network series about high-society living in New York City.

Today's consumer wants to brew tea at home, and this is coupled with a demand for more tea selections.

There is a whole world of teas out there, and there is certainly a large demand in Gainesville for high-quality teas and glass accessories. It’s great that Publix is going to offer better-quality teas that people can brew themselves.

This is an interesting topic because many people don't realize the benefit of green tea. My mom is an avid green tea drinker so I will have to let her know about this product. You could maybe suggest the price of this product and more detail on the health benefits. Overall, lots of good information. Nice work.
